Our Story

Trupti Sedani Pandhi, founder of Blue Pepper, holding a cup of Indian-inspired herbal tea

From Indian Family Rituals to a Canadian Tea Brand

Blue Pepper began with a feeling many of us know well: the comfort of gathering around something warm.

In our founder Trupti Sedani Pandhi’s family, chai was never simply a drink. It marked conversations, celebrations, quiet pauses and the everyday moments that brought people together. The aromas of ginger, cardamom, clove, fennel and pepper carried memories of Indian kitchens, family recipes and traditions shared across generations of women.

Those memories became the foundation of Blue Pepper, a women-founded Canadian tea infusion brand created in Ontario.

Where Bold Flavour Meets Calm

Blue Pepper brings Indian-inspired herbs and whole spices into modern tea rituals. Every blend is created to offer flavour, aroma and versatility without losing the warmth and character that inspired it.

Our infusions can become a comforting hot tea, refreshing iced infusion, spiced chai, creamy latte, smooth cold brew or an unexpected tea mocktail. One pouch can move naturally from a quiet morning to an evening gathering, because tea should fit the moment rather than define it.

That balance is at the heart of our name.

“Pepper” represents boldness, warmth and the unmistakable character of spice. “Blue” represents calm, creativity and a more contemporary way of experiencing tea. Together, they express what Blue Pepper brings to every cup: a little kick with your calm.

From Boardrooms to Blends

Before founding Blue Pepper, Trupti Sedani Pandhi spent nearly two decades building a career in Human Resources. Her work centred on people, culture, strategy and connection, values that continue to shape the brand today.

After immigrating to Canada in 2019, she began imagining a business that could bring together her Indian heritage, creativity and belief in meaningful everyday rituals. What started with late-night recipe testing and family feedback became Blue Pepper in January 2024.

Building the brand meant more than creating tea blends. It meant translating familiar Indian flavours into approachable infusions for modern Canadian homes while preserving the memories and cultural warmth behind them.

In 2025, Trupti returned to Halton Region’s Starter Company Plus community as a mentor, sharing practical guidance with other entrepreneurs navigating the early stages of building a business.

Her journey from Human Resources leader to tea entrepreneur reflects the same belief found in every Blue Pepper blend: meaningful change can begin with one thoughtful decision.
